History and Culture:

World-wide known as the home to ‘The Royal Military Academy Sandhurst’ a training academy for all new and old officers across the country in the British Army. Although its entrance ceremonials are done in Camberley the actual location of the RMA is in fact in Sandhurst. The people of Sandhurst pride themselves on the deep rooted history of the military the town brings/offers to not just its residents but to the world; a town that’s more than just a ‘small town’.

Things to do in Sandhurst:

Sandhurst is not the go to place for leisure activities as there aren’t many leisure facilities in place at the moment. However, it is an ideal place for sightseeing and nature-lovers. Sandhurst Memorial park is, as visitors described, a ‘Lovely place to go for a walk and let the children run off some energy. Suitable for a wide age range of children. Free parking. Nice cafe on the furthest side of the football fields and toilets available near the park too.’ (Need we say more?)

Another park that offers similar experience and facilities is ‘Swan Lake Park’, just on the outskirts of Sandhurst. Ofcourse, given the name, this park is famous for its wildlife, especially water birds such as swans, making it ideal for both wildlife/animal lovers and those who just want a nice peaceful long walk around the lakes and ponds.

It’s more of a way to escape the busy city life and only enter the chaos according to their own desires. Therefore, although there isn’t much to do in Sandhurst, it is conveniently surrounded by many bigger towns and cities that have a lot more to offer and give.

Transport:

Therefore it has great train links to Reading, Gatwick Airport etc. However, although it doesn’t have a direct train link to London yet, you can still get to London Waterloo in approximately just over an hour, depending on the time and day, changing at Reading Station.

Sandhurst Education:

This town/village, although small, leaves no areas covered when it comes to education and schools. Sandhurst has many excellent schools to offer such Uplands Primary School and Nursery, St Michaels CE Primary School Sandhurst, Sandhurst School, Eagle House School and many other schools both Primary and Secondary not to forget the neighbouring schools and colleges in Camberley and Farnborough.
